The castle tower Jakobínka
The tower Jakobínka is the only one reminder of the extinct Upper Rožmberk castle these days.
The tower Jakobínka is the only one reminder of the extinct Upper Rožmberk castle these days. If you will go up almost 170 stairs, you will get a spectacular view at the whole compaund of the Rožmberk double castle and the surrounding area. In the years 2013 – 2019, there was an extensive reconstruction using historical building and craft methods. You will get information about the history of the tower and you can see a model of the tower including scaffolding and crane which reminds of this unique building experiment.
The tour route is suited for visitors who are physically fit. The staircases inside the tower do not comply with current norms.
